Privacy Policy

1 · Who We Are

PicoRivera.Today is a 100% volunteer-run, ad-free community newsroom. We value your trust; protecting it is non-negotiable.

2 · What We Collect Very little

  • A public username for community posts and comments
  • Private account details such as your name and email address
  • Optional address or neighborhood and birthday information when you add it to your profile
  • Basic log data automatically generated by our web server (IP, browser type, time stamp)

Your real name, email, address, and birthday are not shown to other community members. Authorized newsroom staff may access account details when needed to operate and moderate the service.

3 · What We NEVER Do

  • No advertising. Zero trackers, zero ad networks.
  • No data sales. We do not share or sell personal data—period.
  • No hidden analytics. Any metrics we view are anonymized server stats.

4 · How We Protect Data

Encryption in transit via HTTPS.
Strong password hashing and protected server backups.
• Strict access controls—only core volunteers with need-to-know privileges may view subscriber lists.

5 · Your Rights

You may request to see, correct, export, or delete any personal data we hold. Email info@picorivera.today and we’ll act within 30 days.

6 · Cookies?

Only a single, essential session cookie to keep you logged in while commenting. No marketing cookies, ever.

7 · Children

We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us for immediate deletion.

8 · Updates

We’ll post any future changes right here and date-stamp the revision, so you’re never in the dark. Last updated: August 15, 2026.
